The pristine Rara Lake and Rara National Park are a beautifully preserved alpine reserve in western Nepal. This is a total wilderness trek following off the beaten track from Jumla. This is a short and very rewarding trek with stunning views and different cultural experience than rest of Nepal.

The Rara Lake lies at an altitude of 2980 m surrounded by pine, spruce and juniper forests and snow capped mountains on the skyline. This extremely beautiful lake is the biggest one in Nepal. Rara national park is also known for rare animal like the gaur, musk deer, yellow-throated martin and a wide variety of birds such as the impeyan pheasant, kalij. You have high chances of seeing most of these animals while on the trek.

Rara Lake Trekking Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel
Day 02: Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley
Day 03: Fly to Nepalgunj , transfer to hotel
Day 04: Fly Nepalgunj – Jumla (2370m).
Day 05: Trek to Danphe Lagna (3130m).
Day 06: Trek to Chautha (2770m).
Day 07: Trek to Dhotu (2380m).
Day 08: Trek to Rara Lake (3062 m)
Day 09: Rest and explore around Rara Lake.
Day 10: Trek to Ghorasingha (3190m).
Day 11: Trek to Sinja (2440m).
Day 12: Trek to Jaljala (3270m).
Day 13: Trek to Jumla.
Day 14: Fly Jumla to Nepalgunj and to Kathmandu.
Day 15: Rest and shopping day in Kathmandu
Day 16: Fly back home

Price: In order for us to quote you the  price, write us with number of persons in your group, the category of hotels you would like to stay, whether you would like to use surface or air transport (where applicable) inside Nepal and your amendment on our itinerary, if any. The price we quote will include and exclude the following.

  • All surface transfers as per itinerary
  • Domestic airfare and airport tax
  • Hote in Kathmandu and Pokhara in twin sharing , BB basis
  • Fooding,  lodging and other expenses of  trekking crew
